Evelyn Guyer, RN, BSN, CE is a nurse educator who established the Foundation for Infant Massage and Family Bonding in 1996. She has worked with families for forty-three years in many capacities: Public Health Nursing, Childbirth Education, Infant Massage Instruction, Early Intervention, hospital nursing in pre and post surgical teaching, Labor, Delivery and Neonatolgy.
Evelyn has been an International Certified Infant Massage Instructor Trainer for the past twenty years, teaching throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Europe. She has authored four books, an educational video, educational flipcharts and created innovative curriculum for two medical centers. She has written and implemented four state and national Grants and continues to design ground-breaking strategies that encompass proactive continuing education programs, meeting the needs of professionals and the families they serve. Evelyn is also an adjunct professor at two Universities, and has been a highly recognized Keynote Speaker for the past sixteen years at International and National Conferences.
Eighteen years ago, Evelyn developed a program of massage techniques for individuals with developmental disabilities known as Bonding and Relaxation Techniques or BART. Evelyn retired in 2006, and appointed leadership of the Foundation to Lisa Davis, BS,COTA/L,LMT. Lisa has assumed the position of Director and will continue to lead the Foundation toward it's goals. Lisa is an active childbirth educator, birth doula, and massage therapist, with a strong background in pediatrics and working with families of children with special needs.
